Gianni (Gee) Santini is AF. One fateful Saturday he goes into his favorite sweet shop and meets the woman of his dreams. Gee is the youngest of the 4 military Santini Brothers. Kianna is an English teacher at the local community college. He leaves the next day for deployment, but after spending the day together they decide to email back and forth while he is gone. Coming back from deployment their was an accident and Gee got a concussion. He couldn't wait to get back to Georgia to see Kianna. Kianna was married before and it was a not a good marriage. He ended up killing himself and left her an abused widow with a lot of pieces to pick up and put back together. She was also hung up on the fact tha she was 6 yrs older than Gee. And the rest is their love story of overcoming their fears. There is also more of the other Santini brothers' lives sprinkled in. I usually love Melissa Schroeder's work, but this story felt rushed as if she hadn't had time to set a firm foundation before taking us through the action. I liked Gianni, but I didn't get sense of him or Kianna until almost the end when they had their altercation at the coffee shop after she asked him to leave her house. The ending was sweet and I enjoyed it, but this wasn't my favorite of the Santini brothers' stories. 3.5 stars.
