I have been impressed with this author and the books I have read of hers but this one is one of my favorites. I really got drawn in to it and loved the setting as well as the characters. I didn't want to love it as much as I did but I am anxious to read the rest in this series as I enjoyed this one so much. For fluff material this is one I will probably take the time to read again sometime in the future. This was an easy 5-Star rating...one of the best novels I have read in a long time. When I was last in TN, I acquired it at Landmark Booksellers in Franklin, TN, drawn by the subtitle: A Belmont Mansion Novel. My first degree was from Belmont University, so the historical research about the mansion and beautiful grounds that were interwoven into the book were very accurate. The plot deals with a woman (Claire) who was forced by her father to make forgeries of famous paintings. When her father is attacked during a robbery and she escapes to Nashville, a web of intrigue begins. Claire becomes Adelicia Acklen's (owner of Belmont Mansion) personal liaison, and beyond the descriptions of the art and sculptures that Acklen acccumulated after the Civil War, a romance also buds with Acklen's attorney, who has his own past to deal with. This was a true pleasure to read, and a fond trip down memory lane into the world of Belmont Mansion.
