Enjoyed this, quite different from other historical novels I have read.Art is a central theme in this book, while I don't have much of an appreciation for art, it did not make this book any less enjoyable, in fact, the vivid descriptions helped me to somewhat imagine how lavish Belmont Mansion was, it would be nice to time-travel and pay a visit to Mrs Acklen house when she was living there ;)Only gripe is that the last 20% of the novel felt a bit draggy to me (the part where Mrs Acklen left Belmont).I have checked the other novel in this Belmont Mansion series & Belle Meade Plantation series, they sound good too, although I hope there will be one written with Cara Netta as the heroine! :) This is a new Christian author for me and I LOVED LOVED LOVED it!! This is a fictional story set at the real BelmontMansion in Nashville area, with the real lady Adelecia Acklen (one of the wealthiest women in the 1860's). This story has a little bit of everything, with some mystery, art forgery, legal, romance, drama, sadness, great joy...I couldn't wait to get back to reading during this one. Set in Louisville and Tennessee right after the civil war and the freeing of the slaves, this was a very good read!!

Loved it. Good clean romance and history. I'm so delighted to have found another author to love.
