A great little Christmas feel good read, that left a smile on my face.Told partly in flashback, which I usually dont mind. Though upto about half way I was thinking I would have preferred a linear story, but by the end, I thought the way it is written worked well.Jonah and Callum re-meet by chance, though to be fair Jonah was looking out for Callum and then we flash back to a period of about 4 years from ages 8 to 12 ish, revisiting the annual Christmas meet up. Both boys have issues in their lives, but seem to cope just - until it all explodes in typical teeny angst! A lovely little old-friends-reunited story, with about half of it flashbacks to that earlier time when the boys were eight and nine and ten... There is low-key angst, mostly held in the spaces between what is actually said. The present-time part is sweet and has the flame of impending heat, but ends right when things are just getting started. I would love to read something longer from this author. The writing is smooth, the characters appealing, and the atmosphere beautifully done.
