Gateway by Christina GarnerThe author tells and writes a good story but it took off slow and then wow was it great.Ember is hearing voices in her head and finally decides to kill herself. Ember ins up in a psych ward where she meets Taren and Callie who attacked Ember and later Taren asks Ember to go see Callie she wants to say she is sorry. In comes terror as a gross looking worm like creature attacks the hospital and the three flee in terror. This starts the beginning of understanding the voice and the Gates opening and the fight of demons. In the end Ember saves the world from the evil escaping into our world. Keepers and Guardians battle by Ember jumping into the mouth of the big demon and blows him up and seals one of 8 gates. I'm not going to bother giving a summary this time, but basically the book was very good, realistic, and well written. The main character (Ember) was very rational about her decisions, and very realistic, which I really appreciated as a reader. It felt like a mesh of stories that I'd already read, combined to form a new one. This made the book seem very familiar, but I still enjoyed reading it, and I will probably look for other books this author has to offer!

Not impressed at all. It sounded like an interesting story but just fell flat.
