4.5 but gave it 5 because after being in what I call 'a reader's swamp' phase, this book got me out and cleared the waters a bit. A reader's swamp phase is that moment when you've read many books with either similar plots or similar type of characters and you're losing your patience while feeling so full of it. I've noticed that lately, all the books are having love triangles, or heroines who even if they love a guy and starting to have a relationship with him they also want to sleep with other guys because they can't decide ( I really hate this type of heroines), or there are cliff-hangers ( I love stand alones when we're talking about romance - seriously there is no need to lengthen the drama). 'For your sake' it's a breath of fresh air in biker books and also in romance books, not because it has an unseen plot ( It's your normal, usual plot) but because of the writing style and the fact that the characters feel so real. I love it how in this story you don't have to deal with this super angsty drama or thousands of other complications. Don't get me wrong, we do have action and complications, but we have 'em in a real, this could actually happen kind of way. The plot it's believable without being toooo exaggerated and I completely love that. The hero and heroine are, again, pretty real and it's not insta love, which again I appreciate it. Ben, the hero, is this big mountain of a man, cold blooded and private, he is a biker, he is loyal to his club and he absolutely hates betrayal. Even if from the outside he looks like this unapproachable and no feelings involved, inside he is kind and sensible ( the right amount of it- he is still an alpha man). About his "alphasness'', well of course he is an alpha right, because he is a tough biker, but he isn't exaggerated, he is again the right amount of it. The heroine is again pretty real. She is an acomplished woman, she has a house, she has a business, she has her feet on the ground. She doesn't act stupid and her actions are believable. The plot is full of biker action and bad guys, everything flows perfectly and still, you don't feel overwhelmed with to much cr*p. The atraction between the hero and heroine is very good, the other characteres are really well developed and the plot is a great balance between action and romance. There was no drama here and I loved it, everything was a no-nonsense and still the story was cosy and light. I think you really need to read this book, even if it's not your usually angsty, drama like, action packed, dark biker romance. I loved loved loved this book, it has everything alpha male,trouble,action and romance. Ben is the enforcer for the mountain skulls mc and the way you can imagine with the description given is definately panty dropping, Eva is the card store owner and when their paths cross after Ben is on the verge of doing something,a relationship developes. I only just recently found out about Elayne Disano but i can guarantee anything this author writes i will eat up like i`ve been on a diet for months and spied chocolate it`s just that good
