About book Fièvre De Lune (2012)

Our introduction to Mackayla strikes hard and fast by showing the contrast between the bright past, and the dark now. Ths dark setting is brought about by the seelie and unseelie that now traverse the world, and the humans that became their toys. Mackayla not only lost her sister to themc but she herself was used for their pleasures. With these as her motives for hunting the fae, she comes off as incredibly strong within the first few pages. As a bonus she and her partner Dani are both sidhe-seers, those with special powers. The other main character is Barrons, whose nature, and motives remain mysterious throughout. As for the relationship between him and her, well it is complicated, but there is a seductive chemistry to it. There are plenty of other people in this world that do not get featured, but enough references are given when talking about past acquaintances to get a sense of Mackayla's deep, and troubled past, and they only make you want to know more about it. The battle this time is against an unseelie named the Fear Dorcha, not an easy creature to portray, but the artist does a fair job, for it steals parts of faces. One of its victims is Dani, and from there Mackayla is willing to do anything in order to save her. Thick inked outlines make the characters pop out at you, and each panel is filled with detail. The action scenes are particularly good examples of both of these. Flashbacks are given a blue tint to visually distinguish them from the present, but otherwise the palette is varied and reflects on the lighting of the area. This graphic novel is only for adults, any nudity portrayed is tastefully done, but the written content can be quite mature, although not detailed. As a standalone story, this graphic novel is complete, but it tantalizes you with strings from Mackayla's past, the mystery of Barrons and his people, and the fate of Dublin in general, and those answers can only be found in the author's Fever series. I never thought I would see the day when I would willingly read a graphic novel. There is no denying I prefer Novels to comics or graphic novels, but for this author and this series, I would read ANYTHING, listen to anything. I would sell my soul for this series. Its no surprise that the FEVER series is my favourite series, and this graphic novel does not let me down.I would like to thank my friend Lauren, who bought this for me while she was over in San Diego for Comic Con in July and bought this back for me.In terms of the story. Its not your typical Graphic novel. It is not a re-telling of a story we already know. It is not say 'DARKFEVER' in graphic form. No. This is completely different. Its a new story, but set within the time that SHADOWFEVER took place. Certain things will make much more sense from Shadowfever after reading this. Certain scenes and events have become much clearer to me now.In FEVER MOON, we learn more about the FEAR DORCHA, who he is and what he wants. Mac and Barrons are on a mission when people go missing and turn up, but with something missing: a part of their face or body. It was all very odd, as you start to wonder what was going on, and who was behind this all. When some of those people end up being near and dear to Mac she starts to wonder whether this is some kind of message to her. She knows there is only so much time left, and they are on the clock to try to fix whatever is going on.I loved this. We discover different sides to the characters, while holding who they are down. I loved the graphics. They were done so beautifully and creatively. The dialogue was great, and I loved getting a new perspective of the series, and seeing things outside my own imagination and vision. I was so thankful I read this, it was a great addition and side story to the series. A look we didn't get to see before, and I can rest easy knowing part of my confusion.. a question I had in Shadowfever was answered within this story. If you are a fan of Karen, and love the FEVER series, then I highly recommend checking this Graphic Novel out. It was SO worth it, and you won't be sorry.Rating -- 5 out of 5

Do You like book Fièvre De Lune (2012)?

I was a little doubtful that I would enjoy a graphic novel, but I am happy to say I was pleasantly surprised! This was a fabulous book. I was done way before I wanted to be! I love K.M. Monig's books and this is a great addition. It is wonderful to see the author's idea of what she imagined the characters to look like as she created the story. I certainly had created my own thoughts and the comparisons are interesting. I highly recommend this book!

This was a great short story to add to the Fever series!! I loved that Moning wrote this story about the one creature she left us (or at least me) wondering about. The monster then stole Mac's breath away in the middle of a crowded bar. I also enjoyed the visual representation of all of my favorite characters! I couldn't stop giggling when I saw Mac in her red dress with her MacHalo strapped to her head!
