It is truly a sign of genius when, after five books, Ms. Jones can keep the stories fresh and entertaining, the humor hilarious and the interest just as strong as the very first book. In this installment the funny did feel a little forced a few times but never enough to slow it down. The relationship between Charley and Reyes revs up in a very good way (at the very time it was desperately needed). I LOVE this series!! This series still continues to be among my top three favorite series, I'm not sure where it belongs, category wise. It's fiction, mystery, and urban fantasy, rolled into one. The humor, oh it just cracks me up, and keeps the darkness of the book from feeling too heavy. Recall how amazing the Sookie Stackhouse books used to be? I'm only comparing the excitement, laughter, and mystery of the books. This series, by far exceeds it.
