I have to admit, this series leaves me somewhat confused. Some books are amazing - I absolutely loved Caressed by Ice and Heart of Obsidian (I seriously wanted to re-read them almost as soon as I finished them). Sadly, this book, like many of the others in the series I've read, doesn't have the same magic. Based on the books I've liked, it seems I prefer books about the Psy men - not sure what that says about me :-).Mostly, I think my difficulty lies with the immediate insta-love attraction between the hero and heroine. There didn't seem to be much of a basis for a relationship between Max and Sophia, yet they went all dramatic and lovey-dovey pretty much instantly. Also, I was looking forward to a human protagonist (Max), because I thought it might be a nice change of pace from the changelings, but as far as I could tell he acted pretty much exactly like a typical changeling male without the whole changing into a cat thing. The plot was also pretty boring - they seemed to spend a lot of time sitting around discussing evidence while trying to touch or not touch eachother, with very little action in between. The reason this read gets two stars instead of one is for the fun cameos from secondary characters. I liked the interactions between Sascha and Nikita and Sascha's attempts to control her power, and am always excited to get more scenes with Kaleb, who is one of the most interesting characters in the series. This is probably a soft four because although I REALLY liked it, I wasn't super addicted like some of the previous books. I adored Max and Sophia though. There were so many great appearances from DarkRiver. This was also the first book where my eyes didn't automatically start to glaze over whenever there was a Council scene. I am incredibly intrigued by Kaleb now. This book was definitely refreshing after the snoozefest that was book 7. But mostly I'm excited because I'm one step closer to book 10.
Do You like book Fesseln Der Erinnerung (2011)?
