Wow wow wow! Yes—three wows! It's that amazing. This book proved to be more than about rebellion and finding love amidst the chaos. It's about fighting hard and holding on to the tiniest hope of finding light in the darkness even if the odds are unlikely to your favor. I really didn't think I'd like Dev as a hero when he was first introduced a few books back. He came out a little too strong and high handed but it actually worked in this book. He's very assesive and smart, strong willed and logical but also capable of so much love. His character suited Katya perfectly. Katya is the broken, damaged heroine who's a threat to everyone because her mind is a ticking time bomb—it can explode with the tiniest provocation. She's incredibly smart but also very innocent in the ways of the human world that made this story fun despite the deeply emotional plot. I actually am staggered with how profoundly they love each other. Their love hurts but it also heals the soul.This definitely is one of my favorites from the series so far. It made me smile and cry at some of the scenes. This book, in my opinion, has the most touching moments to date and of course it wouldn't have been achieved without the help from the plot progression that originated from the earlier books. Can't say much more other than this book is gold! this cover is more appropriate for Max's book i think, since this guy looks like a cop. but anyway it doesn't matter, because Dev is just as awesome and strong. the story was great. loved it loved it loved it. from all the 7th books i've read till now this is the only one that has made me cry. and the part with the kids was just wonderful... they're angels. i loved what happened to Sascha here :D i love how the characters from the other books keep coming up and help Dev and Katya (but also Max and Sophia in the next book). i love how the pack of DarkRiver keeps growing stronger, also the alliance with the SnowDancer's. i love that every plot that seems impossible, but in the end solves perfectly. i love that all these books are building something and i hope that thing that is about to explode better be something great with a special couple in the center of it (would it be too much to ask for that couple to be Nikita and Anthony?). i love how each story has two distinctive characters who fit perfectly with each other. i love the steamy parts too. all in all these books are perfect. i'm so happy i decided to read these series. in my opinion it's one of the best.
