About book Falling Into Heaven: The Surprising Path To Happiness (2000)

A good little book with an interesting premise – that instead of “climbing” to Heaven, the scriptures indicate that we reach the highest by getting “down” and not “up” to get to our desired destination. Sprinkled with stories from both the author’s own experiences and the scriptures to validate his points, this is a helpful little book that emphasizes that our goal is reached by obedience to both outward laws and inward laws. I really enjoyed this book. This book made me think and really begin to examine my own life. As another reviewer said, he raises more issues than he settles, but he consistently leads the way to the realization that we must fall before Christ to become whole. We, of ourselves, are nothing, but he is everything. I think perhaps he doesn't settle any issues for us because he wants us to think about our own lives and turn to Christ. If Ferrell gave us answers, we could stop thinking or worse, turn our attention from our own to someone else's follies. The crowning moment of the whole book is when he makes his own discovery at the end and let's us feel it with him; he stops teaching and we feel it with him.
