So far this is actually my least favourite book in the series. Don't get me wrong, it's a good story, the kind I've come to expect from the Joe Ledger series. I think my biggest problem is that the dynamic of the two main bad guys, Shelton and Mr. Bones, is strikingly similar to Gault's and Toys' back in in Patient Zero. A genius pioneer in his field who is actually taking part in a plot that will devastate the world, along with his best friend/assistant. Granted Shelton has a bag of feral cats for a psyche but still the similarity did bug me.Don't get me wrong, this is a good book. I didn't hate it, I just didn't like it as much as the rest of the series. There's action, conspiracies, snarky remarks, there's even a new love story, and about half way through something dramatic happens to the DMS.Knowing what happens to the Vice President in the next book, and who he's really in bed with, I still can't see the decisions he made and his entire thought process to be anything but mind-blowingly idiotic. I really wish I could give this a 3.5. It's better than a 3 but not quite a 4.While it's not my favorite of the Joe Ledger series, I really enjoyed it. As usual, the last 100 pages you cannot (and will not) put down. I finished it up at my desk at work!Vampires, clones, zombies, Nazis...aliens? Sure why not. I love this series, it's so much fun. I think I was initially put off by the book because there is some set up/framing on Joe (I hate frame ups). It wasn't bad though. Any confusion about who is doing what is cleared up in a nice neat package at the end of the book. Can't wait for the next one!Ladies love Joe! **SPOILER** Not many guys can bang a vampire and an alien within one 24 hour period!
Do You like book Extinction Machine (2013)?
