Do You like book Even Silence Has An End: My Six Years Of Captivity In The Colombian Jungle (2010)?
This was incredible story. It was shocking to me to think that these events could occur in today's world. Betancourt was captured and held captive for over six years. The circumstances in which she was held were cruel and horrible. Two things were particularly astounding about the book. One - how long it was. It was almost real time. Two - although she alleged to have next to nothing in terms of amenities so it is unlikely that she kept a diary or had a calendar at her disposal - she writes about what she did on specific days at specific times and what she ate for lunch some days. Seems highly unlikely that one could remember six years in that much detail. Still an incredible yarn. Get the condensed version.

Good....but can seem a bit pompous...This book is about the trials and tribulations of a woman whom was captured by the FARC and held captive for 7 yrs. Overall the book was well written and I was in Ingrid Betancourt's shoes most of the time...most of the time. I don't know whether it was to flesh out the book for a more interesting read or if it is actually her, but three quarters of the way through there does seem to be an air of self righteousness on the narrator's side. That partially ruined the book for me.
