Evangeline knows that she is different than her sister Jade and realizes that she must go to the forest as it has been calling to her. I enjoyed this short story about Evangeline as it gives you a little back history about her and shows what lead us to what she is today. After learning what I have of Evangeline, I am looking forward to seeing if her good side will come out or if she will forever be “bad”.A great short story to add to your Dark Faerie Collection! I loved this book. I really liked the sisters, whose relationship was well done and seemed like real sisters. Some books don’t paint a genuine picture, where you just want to poke someone in the eye. I also enjoyed the paranormal element. I am a huge Fae fan and I think that this book was a great set up for the Dark Fairy Tale Series. I love the introduction into Faery and the magic found there. It is a compelling and beautiful world, frot with love, danger, beauty and even violence. I would hate to give away too much but love’s outcome can be sad but opens doors to greater things.

This was a good prequel. It is short but a good start to the series. The next book is Ever Shade.
