About book Endlich Beliebt!Ausführliche Studien Darüber, Wie Man Cool Und Von Allen Gemocht Wird ; Durchgeführt Von Lydia & Julie (2011)
Two fifth-grade girls record their observations of the popular girls in their class so they can figure out what to wear/do/think in order to become popular themselves. As an adult, it's easy to trivialize that tween desire to be "popular" - the coolest, most creative adults I know all admit to being at least borderline weirdo freaks in middle school, and we try to look back on those years as good character building. But this book reminds the adult reader (and probably articulates for the young reader) why being popular is so appealing in middle school - no one picks on you, you get invited to all the parties, you get preferential treatment from teachers. It can seem like a ticket to surviving the cruel social and anatomical anarchy of the 6th grade experience. And for a book in the climb-the-social-ladder genre, this one's pretty solid. The protagonists have a good sense of humor and a sweet friendship, the girls in the popular clique are mildly complex, and the illustrations are appealing. It's not going to change lives, but I think it'll be an easy sell to fans of the Amelia's Notebook/Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.Oh, also, sidenote: there are gay, interracial dads! Daddy and Papa Dad are such a sweet parenting couple. This book was so intriguing and fun to read. It is about two girls who want to be popular and have decided to try to examine the popular girls and do experiments to see if they will become popular. It is written in a really neat way: like an actual diary. Each of the main characters have their own writing, one is in cursive and one isn't. I think that this book would be great for upper elementary schoolers and would be very engaging. I would use this book as a book club series in my future classroom. I would have my students also write their own type of book like "The Popularity Papers" by writing a journal entry each day after our book club discussion.
Do You like book Endlich Beliebt!Ausführliche Studien Darüber, Wie Man Cool Und Von Allen Gemocht Wird ; Durchgeführt Von Lydia & Julie (2011)?
This well written book shows how Lydia & Julie deal with their impending move to high school. They want to be part of the popular group, and thier strategy is to observe the popular girls to find out why they are populat in order to imitate them. The results are funny and silly. The book is hand written by the author and features full color. It's not exactly a graphic novel or a diary, but somewhere in the middle.I would recommend this book to girls, ages 9 and up, especially if they liked the Wimpy Kid books. Also, recommend the Dork Diaries.

Delightful graphic novel of sorts in the form of a scrap book exemplifies life as a fifth grade girl. The story of best friends, Julie and Lydia, unfolds through their pictures and commentaries on adventures as they prepare for middle school. You can almost feel the growing pangs as they try to uncover the secret of being popular. Ignatow subtly introduces these characters along with their non-traditional families. I see a cult following for this series.
