I seriously think that this series is really different from Mrs. McCarty other series 'Highland Guard'...this book is full romance and oddly somehow I feel I like the 'Highland Guard' series better. I think Mrs. McCarty describe war better than romance...in my opinion. At first I kinda hate Lizzie for being that...I don't know I think she is annoying. I always hate woman characters who get two guys to love her but then she kinda like can't make decision and hang the guys feeling. Maybe its just me hahahaha So...that issue make me like I wanna just flip the pages without really read it. But when Patrick and Lizzie alone in mountain, I became immersed in story again because I really like that part. I was really hoping that this book would be better than the first, but sadly it just pissd me off more. These books have NO justice in them & the bad guys get away with everything. Yes the guy gets the girl in the end but to what justice the bad guy still gets away with it. Plus the character's personalities I still found irritating & just wanted to finish the book. I have enjoyed a lot of Monica McCarty's Books but something about this trilogy bugs me.
