I did think this book was wonderful, especially for a "romance" novel with a rather embarrassing cover. However, I did feel (and this is not a negative comment but rather a big compliment) that I really wanted the book to be a more expansive, longer, and more in depth. I felt like the book kindof glossed over some interesting things that I wanted to know about, and I wanted much more of the characters because I thought they were so complex and intriguing. I feel like if the book took a little more time to follow the characters and expand of their journey it could have become an epic story on par with something like Gone with the Wind. Totally enjoyable of you are into an epic romance and want a light, fast read. I found myself really interested in the setting of India and the cultural struggles, and I was instantly brought into the story. I do feel that the first part of the story was the strongest--to me the second part felt a little angsty, and the bad guy a little one dimensional. Again (same author) very excited by the description of this book, but it did not end up being anything like i was lead to believe. I skipped a lot of this book. I did not truly understand the h and H's relationship, it was written like they were deeply in love and knew each other forever, but as the reader i was confused as to when they fell in love and was under the impression they had really only met twice (and spent maybe 4 days together)....sex was okay.
