About book Eine Hinreißende Herzogin: Die Fitzhugh Trilogie, Band 0.5 (2000)
What is shorter than a novella? A story, I suppose. What is shorter than a story? An outline? This is shorter than an outline. It's sort of a long set of paragraphs. Perhaps it is not fair to review a work based on its length. However, I am not commenting on its monetary value--only on the content of the work itself. And this is just too darned short to convey a meaningful, engaging, character-driven idea.Sherry Thomas writes thoughtful, somewhat controversial, unusually complex romance novels. To consider this in the same realm as the rest of her work is, at best, a disappointment. Not recommended. Trapped in a loveless marriage, Clarissa is intrigued by her husbands's cousin Mr. Kingston. With little social contact, Clarissa treasures her letters from a pen pal Miss Kirkland. After the death and mourning of her husband she finally gets the opportunity to invite friends to a party--but who shows up may surprise her.I think my review just got to be longer than the actual novella. It was really short, but sweet. There wasn't much of a mystery-I had it pegged early on. It was a cute and easy little read.language: clean, heat level: mild
