Id admit this would probably not be the sort of book I would read normally. The drawn cover makes it seem to me to be a YA story but it isn't.Its the story of Rory, who drives across the country to attend a conference featuring his favorite artist Yamane, who believes is a girl. However, when he gets to the head of the line, he discovers that he is in fact a man.The story that follows is good. Yamane is being stalked and Rory takes it upon himself to keep him safe. I put this book off over and over again because of the cover. Now that I just finished it, I want to slap myself.I fell in love with the writing style on page 1. Rory's sense of humor and inner dialogue immediately made me relax and understand that THIS BOOK wasn't going to be like the others. And I just trusted the author to not destroy that. And I was rewarded. What a beautiful, interesting, unique story. The action plot part I could have taken or left, however, I suppose it helped drive the "plot".The real story is the amazing development between the two main characters and it is perfectly, beautifully executed. I rarely do re-reads, but I think this will be the exception. And if you're like me and you're on the fence about this one because of the cover....You know what they say about judging a book from the cover.*face palm*You won't regret it. :)
Do You like book Drawn Together (2009)?
Not the worst thing I've read. Not even the worst thing I've read today.
