About book Domino: The Book Of Decorating: A Room-by-Room Guide To Creating A Home That Makes You Happy (2008)
This book was a fun and quick read - it is a nice coffee-table book. I appreciated the breakdown of major pieces and what they pair well with. It would have been rated higher for me if there was a more thorough representation of aesthetics; I feel like the majority of the book is very modern design and it would have been nice to have seen a couple of examples of more traditional/french country/classic type of designs. For someone who is just beginning to establish their aesthetic, it is good for seeing examples of rooms and how each component in those rooms comes together to create an idea. Hurray! Another home design book that's far more practical than fanciful. Full of many, many great examples of rooms, pairing various items together, using specific inspiration as a starting idea, and then the last section has a visual glossary of the terms decorators use when describing furniture. I made lots of notes from this one - mainly getting ideas of process more than style, but I think that's what i need most right now.
