Even though I had read the blurb when I checked the book out of the library, by the time I got to this book I had completely forgotten what it was about. Which was a good thing or it would have ruined the start of the book and the pure joy and excitement that I felt for the characters.Laura is Dexter's older sister and the only girl that is permant in his life. That is until the night that she gives birth to Delphi...and Dex falls in love. Though in the next moment still manages to chat up the hospital staff...ladies man through and though.Months go by and suddenly Dexter's world comes crashing down when his sister dies suddenly. Dex heads to his weekend cottage and ends ups talking through everything with his neighbour Molly, even though they have barely met. Its a conversation that completely changes his life I like the way Jill Mansell writes. She always has a quirky leading lady and in this book its Molly. Molly lives in a small village called Briarwood. It where the neighbors know each other and help each other out. They try to discourage Londoners from buying up the property for rental units. Dexter is one such weekender. He has a fast life, with a fast car and likes fast women. His life drastically changes when he becomes guardian to an 8 month old niece. His sister suddenly died and he becomes responsible for this little person. He decides to drastically change his life by living in his weekend home in Briarwood. Wonderful characters and dialogue. Funny scenes and very blunt characters make the situation even funnier. Great read.
I loved this book, I could not put it down! It was so funny and entertaining!
