About book Der Vampir Auf Dem Heißen Blechdach (2012)
Both Olivia and Robby are on the Greek island of Patmos, recovering from various traumas. Robby, a Vamp, was kidnapped and tortured by Malcontents, while Olivia, a mortal FBI psychologist, is being stalked by an imprisoned serial killer. Neither are looking for romance, but a chance encounter leaves them both spellbound.I liked this book a little less than previous installments in the series, mostly due to Olivia's very strange trust issues. She leaps to these wild conclusions and is quick to shout betrayal over nothing. It makes it really hard to like her and empathize with her. Robby, on the other hand, always behaves in a forthright manner (or as forthright as he can be), and is genuinely invested in making the relationship work. The stalking storyline was genuinely creepy and mystifying, and it ended up tying in quite well with the overall storyline. Robby and Olivia's story was nice, and the background story was better than some of the other books in the series. I have to mention though, that all these books are waaayy to similiar. Other than the background stories, nothing really sets them apart and it's starting to irk me. Vampire falls in love with mortal, doesn't tell the mortal they're a vampire (or wolf), then there's the dramatic scene when they find out, then they don't want anything to do with the vampire - but wait, oh they love him so they decide to go ahead and marry the guy in about a weeks worth of time. Oh. Great.
