60% of this novel could have been cut out. I've never seen a series that is so damn repetitive, WE DO NOT NEED THINGS TO BE EXPLAINED SEVERAL TIMES A BOOK. We are not stupid. I have a love/hate relationship with Rae, she proved to be brave and selfless in the end but she was damn irritating getting there. And I'm sorry but Loch & Daphne...it doesn't just happen like that. It wasn't even that simple for Rae & Tomas. Would have liked to have learnt a little more about the fairy world...Fletcher touched upon it when they were travelling to the wall with Gunarr, but no luck, back to the same old crap afterwards. Oh & also, Samuel may be a good guy but that particular scene just by the wall was a tad ridiculous. Also, curious as to Runts whereabouts and the fate of the rest of the Goblin horde & the fairy who assisted him...Anyway, it was somewhat enjoyable, but I feel that what could possibly have been an amazing series is constantly let down by repetitive description, drawn out inner monologues and poor bloody editing. Get someone to read your work Fletcher! Then get another person & yet another! It really does take from the readers enjoyment of the story. Roll on the fourth & final book...who will die now everything is so damn tidy and sweet and lovely? Also; poor Wasp. Only she can suffer eh?! I am still reading this. I have been reading it for some time. I still love the characters but I'm finding the storyline to be a bit draining. I can only read for short periods of time, and I'm having more and more trouble getting back to it. I will finish it... I have to find out what happens, but I doubt I will read the next book in the series. I have never "quit" a series before, so I will probably eventually read the books that follow. I loved the first book so much...I will keep you posted.Finished recently. Took forever, but it was worth it. Good story, but I'm done with the series. She has changed the names of all the books too.
