A real feel-good read - can see me coming back to this one on a wintery night, when you need something to read where there is low/no angst, is sweet but not sickly sweet and leaves a happy glow!Cameron needs help - with his life, daughter and dog. Jason needs help - with a job and somewhere to live. it feels like Billy, the catalyst, should have had a bigger role than he really did and I wanted to know more about him!There is nothing new in this in terms of plot and how it pans out, but RJ Scott does have a way of making a fairly straight forward story a little bit special! Easy to devour in one sitting. Deefur DogFirst off, understand that this is a gay romance. It's about two great guys who meet and fall in love. Deefur Dog is a LOVE story, with true romance. It's not Hot, Hot, Hot, like many would expect, but a well written story from the heart that will keep me coming back to reread it when I'm feeling down.Cam is the dad of a toddler and a very rambunctious Great Dane. He's at his wit's end and the author drew me into the story so that I too remembered those days of doing it on my own and just wanting the universe to give me a break- any break! Jason's youth and idealism, untainted by the world's ugliness is so refreshing, as is his confidence.That's all I'm going to say, except that if you are open minded and love a good story about PEOPLE, not stereotypes, then you'll enjoy Deefur Dog.Superb characterization.Wonderful mystery/plot.Great writing style.I'm pretty much hooked on RJ Scott now.

Story line was good. Ending was short and a bit awkward. Id say more of a 3.5 or 4.
