About book Death Note - Tome 2 (Dark Shonen) (2009)

I think it's pretty safe to conclude that the main character -- anti-hero protagonist Light Yagami -- is an absolute arsehole. Whether I should like Light or not no longer appears to be ambiguous and it has become quite clear that Light is the true villain of his own story. I am passionately hoping he gets his comeuppance. He is an arrogant, selfish, pompous, sexist womanising bastard. Any noble purpose he might have had when he first laid hands on the Death Note have now evaporated as he desperately tries to save his own skin and eliminate anyone who stands in his way. It is all very exciting though, on to volumes V and VI! When I read the first book, I thought "Ok, if the plot is basically the same by the end of the second book, I'm going to have to stop." And so I will. Fun story, but it definitely has the potential to churn out book after book with no real developments. Almost like you're reading a novelization of a long TV series, instead of a specific story that is going to be told.Plus, there were some developments that I just don't have patience for. L is a high school/college kid, just like Light? And super smart, and super good in sports - just like Light? And every new character introduced all falls into the age range? How convenient...and no thanks.
