My feelings are pretty mixed with this one. I went with 3 stars because there is a good story and good characters, even if the story isn't sufficiently independent. It relies heavily on the previous book, so hard to follow when that hasn't been read. This also makes the start very slow, because it is too busy resolving issues from the first book that I didn't read to get to a story. Unfortunately it also had moments of awkwardness that need polish. I was a little disappointed with this book, especially after reading the first one. I did like the fact that things continued directly on from the first book, but I felt that the investigation she was asked to carry out was very tenuous, and also that there was no real linkage to the events of the first book, which would have given the reasons as to why the security at her house was so ramped up, and who she was afraid of. It was almost as though the author was using this as a filler between the main storylines of books 1 and 3 - particularly so since the book finished with a strong hint that her nemesis was still watching her. I'm now in two minds as to keep a look out for book 3.
Do You like book Death By Drowning (2011)?
