The jokes just keep coming with this one! Every single joke within this book was so on point and I couldn't stop laughing. I loved the idea of the demon that was delving out silly powers to humans only to take them back and go against his boss. I love all the old style comics of Deadpool. Plus Daredevil and Spiderman show up, yes please (Daredevil over Spiderman obviously)! This was such a nice break from some of the serious comics I read where I have to worry about everything. I'm ready for the next one. Selling one’s own soul to the devil rarely has, if ever, a favourable outcome. This is how I would summarise Volume 2 (Soul Hunter) of Marvel Now’s Deadpool. This volume runs through issues #7-12, and it effectively involves a sort-of continuation from the previous volume using some of the then-introduced characters.Vetis, a demon, has been spreading his powers among a select few individuals. As time comes for him to call in his loans he hires Deadpool to take care of it and bring their demise. Whilst hunting them down, Deadpool encounters several adversaries and has a (short) encounter with Daredevil, Taskmaster, Spider-Man, Mephisto, and Luke Cage. It also further includes a short ‘1979’ adventure with Iron Man, even if at the time Deadpool hadn’t been created, tying completely with the plot. This is all I can say without giving away any actual details, though the plot flows nicely, and is fun and entertaining enough. The cameos are probably one of the parts that I enjoyed the most about this book – probably because I am a huge fan of Taskmaster and Daredevil – and the interactions all characters had with Deadpool anything but boring.The art, though from a different artist than in Volume #1 of this series, I found that I liked more than the first one. It is bright and reflects the craziness of Deadpool clearly, and seems to fit well with the plot. Though I am tempted to compare it to other Comic Volumes I have reviewed in the past, if so I don’t think I’d be able to hold up to the likes of the Deadpool Killogy, previous Deadpool titles/runs, or other Marvel Now! and New 52 Title; story-wise too, in this way. It, however, isn't bad at all of a comic. It's too ordinary in this way to be able to compare. Overall, I am forced to admit that this title was, in fact, entertaining. It was fun to read and easy to follow, and involving Deadpool, one can hardly ever be bored. For me it flows better than the first one, and I enjoyed it more than the first volume by Brian Posehn. However, I can’t say I enjoyed it as much as other titles because of the silliness of it (in a ‘dumber’ way). Deadpool ‘Soul Hunter’, as such and though entertaining, deserves a 3 out of 6 rating, as did its preluding volume; as while it is entertaining, it fails to be anything else. You won’t remember it in T-3 hours, but I can’t really criticise it.
