About book Deadpool, Vol. 1: Dead Presidents (2013)

I wouldn't say I loved this one but I definitely liked it. Posehn and Duggan's writing actually made me laugh out loud at times, especially with that elephant pun and the Smiths reference. As most comic readers will know Deadpool, for the most part, is a form of comic-relief in the marvel universe but throughout this comic I saw hints of something deeper and kind of cynical about Deadpool that really attracted me to his character, especially towards the end of this volume.I also have to give props to Tony Moore as the art throughout the volume truly captured the ridiculousness of the storyline and the gore was brilliantly graphic as classic Deadpool should be. I would recommend this comic to fans of Deadpool or comic readers looking for some light hearted humour; though if you are looking for something a little more serious I wouldn't say this is for you. This was an assigned reading for this month's comic book meet-up group. It's very rare that I decide halfway through a short comic trade that it's too horrible to keep going. I did just that for this book. After the first 4 issues, I realized it wasn't going to get any better.I think I like the concept of Deadpool more than I like actually reading Deadpool comics, but we'll see.I think I liked Deadpool in Rick Remender's Uncanny X-Force. He was in that team, right?

Do You like book Deadpool, Vol. 1: Dead Presidents (2013)?

Not what I wanted from a Deadpool comic. I wanted darker, and sharper, and this was not that at all.

This one made me laugh a bit. Ridiculous, in a good way. :)
