I was pleased to receive a free copy of this book via Goodreads and read it over the weekend. Sadly, I realised that I expect more from a book than a light romantic read now. I am sorry but it just wasn't for me. I imagine the storyline would hold more appeal to older readers. I can't imagine my daughters reading it, it's just too predictable and not quite believable. With so many amazing fiction writers out there I wouldn't read another by this author. I love Erica's book, they all seem such good, nice places to live, a happy ending is a guarantee. The problem with this book is that two of the four main characters are seriously irritating. Esme the older lady is charming and the best character by far, Seb is just irritating and wants a good shaking, Adam fills the rich charming hunk space well with Floriana and her spineless, simpering dizziness the weakest character. The setting in Lake Como, with lots of descriptive passages truly brought Italy to life and will make all readers want to holiday there, this book will do Italy's tourism no harm at all.
Do You like book De Zomer Aan Het Meer (2014)?
A little predictable, but I always enjoy Erica James books. It was a good beach read.
