An enjoyable light, entertaining read, though not the best novel from Erica James. The characters come across strongly - I liked Ella and feisty Maggie, thought Ethan was weak and his wife and friend too one- sided and bitchy. I got slightly irritated early on with the frequent introspection passages from the main characters and was not convinced as to how Maggie, working hard as a cleaner and downtrodden by her husband and his relatives could immediately attract young, good looking Daryll. The scene with her mother in law's dog was sheer farce. There were enough twists in the plot to keep me guessing to the end when everything worked out very neatly. Had about a minute in our local library to choose a few books, so grabbed this without any thought.It was all right really; tad predictable and unchallenging, but to be fair, an enjoyable, easy-to-read, shallow, guilty pleasure chick lit. Didn't do my brain cells any favours, but hey, sometimes a light read is fine.Really liked the main characters and was interested in how they struggled to get their lives in order and escape their unhappy relationships.
