Pakistan à la frontière de l'Afghanistan. l'après 11 septembre vu de l'autre coté. Pas seulement modérés et Djihadistes mais la description d'une société dans la tourmente ou l'Islam est omniprésent et est ce que chacun en fait. Déchainement de violence entrainant malgré eux les personnages. Chacun essaie de trouver son chemin, ou les moments de paix sont ceux à contempler la nature. Style un peu particulier mais très belle écriture évocatrice, poétique.Un travail d'équilibriste qui ne verse ni dans l'engagement politique ni dans le mélo. Honestly, I kept abandoning this book in favour of others on my Kobo because it was quite difficult to get into. I believe that it was the narrative style in the writing or quite possibly the cookie cutter characters that threw me. I felt that I had to really push myself to see this book through til the end. I would have to say that if the author had taken part 3 of the book and built a storyline about a Pakistani man who is a wanted Taliban fugitive and an injured American Special Forces officer depending on each other as they travel across Pakistan- I would have bought into the story. I really wish that this book would have swept me away as it did for others.
Disturbing, but couldn't put it down. A great insight into Islamic teachings and way of life.
