This book was acceptable. i liked it, but not amazing, The plot was fair it deserves maybe 2.8 stars, the characters were just fine, except for Pollux, first he seemed really unpleasant then he seemed like they were best friends and then 5 seconds later he was being unfriendly again, i'm just saying his character was contrasting himself. (maybe it was a sign post! ha! incorporating ELA!) but this contrasting made no since what so ever,and by the end of the book it stilled didn't make since. so yes this confused me. But it was still a nice little read. Filler nonsense. Kate is made out to be either naive or simple minded, neither a nice quality for a heroin. The twins being the only new characters didn't feel interesting. Kate, to me, felt whiny and didn't seem interested in understanding rules. She was only interested in changing them, reason be damned. I found nothing redeeming about this short. It didn't make me want to read the next book, in fact, it was off putting. I take comfort that this wasn't part of the main story. It seems like something the editor would cut for being unnecessary and not relating to the main storyline. Therefore, why bother to release it at all. Even separately, as a short. Money? Attracting attention with another in the series? Whatever the reason, my time wasted.
