What does a woman do when the dating service who set her up with her soulmate is wrong? She starts a campaign agianst the company and its founder, little does she know that she is up against Cupid, in all his glory :PWell, the story is short, a fact i am greatful for, casue i wouldn't have finished it otherwise(i hate leaving a book half way however bad it might be, one of the curses of mine)it was a light read with lots of groping and loving..the plot is.. nothing much, there are a couple of pages which try to get the readers to sympathize with the leads about their tragic past(Cupid's Ex-wife had poked him on the butt with one of his own arrows, come on!!)They meet..zap..instant chemistry well they are GODs(demi gods as in this case)so who am i to judge?(shrug) Nothing beats the flirty fun you find reading something by Eve Langlais. I always squee when she releases something new and DATING CUPID definitely lived up to the excitement I felt when I received it. I’ve read most of the sexy alphas Eve created, fallen into a complete lust swoon over many of them and I was tickled that her next stud was Mr. Love himself – Cupid. This story was HOT with a capital H that left me in a swoon. A great way to spend the afternoon, I enjoyed every word and was so sad when it was over.Roxanne is a woman on a mission. Three times she used the services of Cupid’s Dating Services and three times she was matched with losers that eventually cheated and broke her heart. Angry at being lead astray with the promise of true love, she sets out to destroy the reputation of the company – plastering Facebook and the internet with her angry rants. It doesn’t take long before the sexy CEO Maverick learns about it and sets out to make her cease and desist. Maverick is stumped over why his company has failed to find love for Roxanne. As the only complaint, his high tech computer program has yet to fail and in all honesty, as Cupid himself – he has the lovers touch and gift for good matches. Looking over all of her details doesn’t answer any of his questions so he invites Roxanne to a sit down negotiation, convinced the problem isn’t with him but with her – maybe she’s some ugly hag of a woman that no one could want. He’s floored when into his office walks a woman who melts his insides and sears her name on his heart. Just one electrifying touch leaves poor Maverick hungering to know her, his thoughts totally consumed by her beauty. Roxanne isn’t immune to his charms either and lustful thoughts swamp her as both of them rush back to their parents, convinced they’ve been bespelled. This was what their parents had hoped for – Aphrodite and Lady Luck have plotted for their children to fall in love for centuries and the time has finally arrived. But both Maverick and Roxanne carry painful scars from past relationships and want to make sure what they feel for each other is more than blistering lust but the foundation for an eternity of love. Believing Maverick to be a player, Roxanne is hesitant to share the L word and when his ex wife Psyche shows up, she may just lose the chance to tell him her heart. Is Maverick truly the honest to goodness faithful man she’s told he is? Can Roxanne overcome her fear and truly believe that he loves her wholeheartedly? And when faced with the threat of Cupid’s arrow will true love triumph over treachery? *sigh* It’s all just so exciting! One of the things I loved most about this story is Eve’s choosing to make Roxanne “real”. When I’m reading a romance novel, it’s easy to picture the hunk of a man, all rippling muscles and yummy goodness. He’s everything you fantasize about and you’re reduced to a drooling mess. As you fall more in love with the hero, I like to be able to put myself in the shoes of the heroine, imagining myself the receiver of those delicious kisses, the one that’s being ravished and devoured. But my mind automatically pictures a slender woman and being of the curvy variety myself, I cheered that Roxanne is a woman after my own body type. I can identify with a woman that doesn’t fit the stick figure mold and I love that books like this celebrate the reality that ALL woman can enjoy heart racing romance. On that same note, I LOVE that Eve writes romances where the hero is completely ENAMOURED with curves. Maverick LOVED Roxanne’s body, he couldn’t wait to memorize each inch of her, trace the contours of her body with his hands and… tongue *blushes* Sexy comes in all sizes and DATING CUPID is a book that definitely promotes that. Well done Eve! I appreciate it and it’s one of the reasons I keep coming back for more.I really found the characters of the story to be endearing. Who hasn’t looked for love and found a bunch of jerks in return. I thought it was funny that as the daughter of Lady Luck, Roxanne had such a bad streak when it came to finding her true love but I loved one of the comments in the book where she was told sometimes you need to have a bad relationship to prepare you for the right one. As much as it broke her heart, I think it prepared her to know what she wanted and when she met Maverick, she was able to recognize there was something more. I loved how she walked into his office strong, ready to kick some serious CEO butt and walked out weak kneed and blushing. Maverick definitely had sex appeal and it was great to see he wasn’t as unaffected. I kind of expected him to be a womanizer at first and was so grateful to learn that he wasn’t – he was the kind of man girls dream of marrying. Truthfully, he showed how amazing he was when all he could think of was attacking Roxanne and having his wicked way with her, but he wanted to know if what he was feeling was more so he gave her something to wear to stop him and froze the key. How’s that for commitment? When his ex wife Psyche showed up, I was ready to slap her for trying to mess with what was happening but it wasn’t needed because Roxanne took care of it. Such a great couple and I enjoyed the way they sizzled.Eve Langlais is an author who provides addicting reads. They’re light, funny, and extremely flirty with incredible heat. I’m always left feeling good when I’m done reading and DATING CUPID was no exception. Definitely grab yourself a copy and settle yourself in for an enjoyable few hours because you won’t want to put this book down. Happy reading!
Do You like book Dating Cupid (2011)?
Would have given it five stars if the heroine wasn't so darn tiresome and thick in the head.
