About book Dancing With Mr. Darcy: Stories Inspired By Jane Austen And Chawton House (2010)
In any short story collection, but particularly one with stories by multiple authors, it is impossible that all the stories should be equally pleasing. The first two stories I found exceptionally good, but the rest varied in quality and suitability to my personal taste. They are all quite short, though, so good and bad alike quickly pass on to the next. I enjoyed the brief statements at the end of every story revealing how Jane Austen or Chawton House had inspired the tale. I picked this up mainly because of the introduction by Sarah Waters, which was highly disappointing - just a two page explanation of why the stories were chosen. I did enjoy the stories, although I think this book is very misleadingly marketed: they are clearly trying to flog it to Colin Firth lovers, possibly turning off readers who are more likely to enjoy the book. The stories themselves were interesting and varied, although I found some of the links to Austen tenuous.

Some of the stories were good, but some of them were so bad.

Not as strong a collection as "Wooing Mr Wickham."
