Wow, this is one of the best novellas I've read. A prequel, Libby and Aidan meet in college in Indiana. He thinks she's a cutter and he's a baseball jock. Libby comes from Knowhere, Indiana, and Aidan is a rich kid from CA. She really knows how to cut him down to size though, and no matter how much he tries, he gets nowhere with her, so they become friends instead. But, one night when Libby's defenses are down, they have their night together. But, Libby is determined to not fall for Aidan, who she is convinced will drop her anyway, for he's destined to play pro baseball and he's never given her any idea that she's in his future. What starts out as a townies vs. college kids sort of story turns into much more, each chapter is either Aidan's or Libby's first person point of view. Libby is smart and strong, Aidan can't resist her, though she's nothing like the girls he usually goes for. I really enjoyed this and can't wait to read book one of this series! 4.5/5 Self-confident Elizabeth (Libby) Tucker is a cutter, who catches the eye of handsome jock Aidan Palowski, and they attend the same university in Indiana. Will their playful, backwards and forwards relationship ever get off the ground, or will they be caught in a perpetual state of being in a relationship vacuum, largely due to events of their own making? This is a straight-speaking romance with realistic lead characters, and a storyline with all the messiness of their relationship depicted with great authenticity by the author. It is an enjoyable story with snappy dialog, and great repartee between the two lead protagonists provides the majority of the entertaining moments throughout the story.
