Were I allowed only one criticism of this book series at the start, it would have been the complete lack of Lord Akeldama. Happily, that tragic vacancy is herein corrected. Parasol fans will be delighted. I do so love all the many little hints that these books are very much prequel to the earlier series, though the finishing school perspective has a different sort of charm. From scientific tests that require the floating school to visit London to the delicate art of character assassination, the list of things that delight me about this book are nigh innumerable. Soap as a chimney sweep infiltrating the Westminster Vampire Hive also ranks highly on that list. This continues to be a strong series, very much worth reading, for all that we seem to be approaching the typical YA love triangle. At least Sophronia seems as disinterested in it as I am. Úklony a úklady je kniha nejen více nabitá city, ale dočkali jsme se i větší akce. Gail Carrigerová čtenáře již nemusela seznamovat s novým světem, a tak zbylo více místa pro samotný příběh, který byl nejen vtipný, ale hlavně hravý a kouzelný. Je to kniha, která rozhodně stojí za přečtení a ačkoliv je díl ukončený, stejně máte potřebu se vynadávat nad tím, že po ruce hned nemáte třetí a závěrečný díl Vesty a ozbrojení, na jehož vydání si ještě budeme muset chvíli počkat.
