About book Corpúsculo (2010)

I had heard about this book soon after it came about, but hadn't had a chance to read it until now. I had low expectations starting this book, but I enjoyed reading it. It really does an amazing job of highlighting all of the awful or ridiculous aspects of "Twilight" and exaggerating them to the point of humor. There were even a few things "Nightlight" picked up on that I hadn't noticed in my reading of "Twilight" years ago. It's kind of funny, but "Nightlight" made me want to reread "Twilight" so I could see how much of what they exaggerated is there that I glossed over when reading.Anyway, it's a fun, fast read. It's not extremely hilarious or anything, but if you've read "Twilight" and are interested in seeing it mocked, "Nightlight" will fill that need. I mostly read it out of curiosity to see what they chose, out of all the possibilities, to mock. This book has some great "laugh out loud" moments. A quick read, and clever entertainment. You must have read Twilight to understand it. I loved Belle Goose's narcissism and over-the-top clumsiness. At the vampire prom:"'Seriously Josh-- I've never danced without unwittingly causing a political uprising...''...Okay okay-- I'll do one dance.' I did my ironic tap-dance. It's a complicated routine, but onlookers will mistake your clumsiness for irony if you raise your eyebrows enough. As predicted, when I finished there was a revolution. A mob of outraged vampires swarmed the dance floor, frantically trying to stop the tap-dancing that had now gotten out of control."
