I really wanted to give this book 3 stars, but is just couldn't. The story is so wildly implausible, that I just couldn't buy into it in spite of a few funny moments. The protagonist bugged the day lights out of me, even though you can see why she'd ditch her husband. How the book she found plays into the story is actually quite secondary, but I kept seeing a great story there that just never developed. A fast enjoyable read. It purportedly took place in Ithaca, put I was hard pressed to identify locations, or attitudes that the author mentioned. I was hoping to at least identify the house the main character bought that belonged to Nabakov, but a Google search showed that he lived in a different house each of the 10 years he was in Ithaca, renting homes of professors on sabbatical. The book deals with a woman's divorce and getting back on her feet and making a new life for herself after that. Her path took some interesting twists, so the full story was not predictable.
