this time she is dog sitting a service dog to a 3 yr old boy with seizers who had a operation. the dog was sad and she finally took the dog to the hospital, the boy responded better and the dog was happy. the clown from the other book was dog sitting him and ended up adopting the cat next door when the owner was killed. the owner made fake friends with her, but lied about everything. her cop friend is investigating the murder which she was stabbed 6 times and in the face. he also invited her to a black tie type event, she got a new dress. she went to the lawyers office, but he is confused with her sending mixed signals. she is confused herself. the grandma lady friend hurt her ankle but is ok. there are a lot of men and the ladies sister to chose from as to who 'did it'.there was a strange talking man that drove old people around, he showed up in dixies living room, but she out smarted him and he ran off. they later arrested him. the grandma lady didnt have much of a role in this one other than hurting her ankle. her brother and his boyfriend still look after her. she doesnt eat much on a good schedule, she is always hungry and running from one place to another. she needs to go to the market and at least get snacks if nothing else!the man from the bank hired the sister to kill the lady. dixie gave the cat to the clown, who renamed him , and and found the money in the cat food bags (i guessed that). they left off with dixie and the cop at the black tie event, didnt say what happened after...guess i have to wait for the next book to show up, good thing i already ordered it. its nice to read them in order, and right after each other so i dont forget what happens like when they just come out! I enjoy the Cat Sitter series (I've read several of them). This was a little different than the others in that the victim was not in one of the pet sitter's client's house. There are some sad parts (other than the murder) and you may not want to read it if you've lost a child. But there are several mysteries involving the victim other than the murder so it keeps your interest. Fairly quick read.
