I'm very disappointed in this book. I couldn't wait for Shaya and Nick's book, they seemed like they would have a pretty interesting story. And the beginning was really good until Shaya made me lose respect for her.SPOLERS:Now, Nick screwed up. Big time. He was a jerk, who deserved to work really hard to redeem himself. And as for me, he did great. He apologised, admitted that he was wrong, didn't pressure Shaya, wasn't overly demanding and dominant. He surprised me with how patient he was with everything. And Shaya spit in his face. I stopped reading at 45% and till that place I didn't see how "sweet" and "perfect" she was. Yes, she was hurt and yes, she should have made him work for it, but after 3 weeks of him trying to prove himself, she goes on a date with another guy? Why? I mean, why would she do it? Why did she hurt him so deliberately? He wasn't doing anything to deserve this, not like that. I liked Taryn and I liked Jaime (even though not so much as Taryn), because they were strong characters who never played games and were always upfront with their behaviour and feelings. Even when they were bitches, they weren't...bitches. If you know what I mean. They were never cruel on purpose. I really liked Nick, but Shaya wasn't who I thought she will be. I understand her issues to an extend, but after a character loses my respect I can't keep reading. I wasn't interested in that couple any more.I hope the next book will be better. Another strike from the wolves! This story was about Nick and Shaya. As already known, they were mate from the 2nd book but Nick didn't want her and when she left, he made the decision to hunt for her. Learning, it wasn't for his position that he didn't claim her.So with this book, a new light was on Nick. A totally surprising because he wasn't like an big ego alpha. He believed into balance. His reasons to stay away from her went deeper and were totally aim to protect. I was surprised by the character because he wasn't cold, big bad wolf. He was just someone who liked being left alone meaning by that "don't annoy me".This book wasn't less fun because Nick got his own quirk and his wooing process was somehow stubborn and thoughtful. He was truly an Alpha magnet, a people magnet, despise his love to being alone and undisturbed.Shaya a lovely happy character but not complicated, this book showed why she didn't like to be alone, why she liked to be around people and also why she was living the full life. As also, where and what she was good with. In the meantime, I was a bit sad with the Lack of Dominic, his sleazy chat up line got under my skin. But in exchange, I got to read about Derren and his plot/mission to make a alpha pack. His support to Nick. Also, I can't compare this book to the previous two because it was different. Another Alpha and a story about Humans vs Wolves, another kind of protection, the hard life, another kind of interaction between the lover, one that I enjoyed reading because it was warm.
Do You like book Carnal Secrets (2014)?
I was disappointed. Sigh.I LOVED LOVED LOVED the two books before this. I had given them 5 stars each! But this book.....such a disappointment.Writing : Great as usualStory Line : Interesting, more plot than the last two books So why did I give it a 2 star?NO CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THE TWO MAIN CHARACTERS.In the previous book, you get a glimpse at Nick and his possessiveness over Shaya. WHERE THE HELL DID IT GO IN THIS BOOK? There were a few times, but it was so tame. I DIDN'T GET TO WITNESS THE STEAM. He was definitely not an Alpha male. He just lacked the possessive/jealous/alpha-hole qualities that readers are so desperate to read when they pick up a Suzanne Wright book. Throughout the book Nick is patient and sensitive and caring. I'm not saying these qualities are bad, but sometimes you just want the hero to CLAIM HIS WOMAN instead of waiting around and being her little slave.Shaya, on the other hand, was nice. She was different, a submissive, not an alpha. Also, she didn't have such a dirty mouth, so that was a huge relief. I was looking for a steamy romance and steamy sex scenes but the author failed to deliver on both. Barely 2-3 scenes. They were extremely steamy but short and few in between. WHYYYYYY? I was looking forward so much to this book.

Another great offering from Ms Wright. Each story seems to get better or perhaps it is that I'm becoming more familiar with the characters. We had a hint of what this story might entail in the previous book and I couldn't wait to read it. I wasn't disappointed. I enjoyed Shaya and Nick's story - plenty of grovelling (on Nick's part which I loved - lol), plenty of action, finally, in the bedroom and a good strong storyline running through concerning the humans vs shifters. I really enjoy a book that is part of a series when it draws in characters that have previously featured and this book, in particular, does a wonderful job doing just that.

Wow! I think this one was the best in the series so far! The PLOT WAS AMAZING IF YOU ASK ME
