About book Butterfly Weeds (2012)

First, i have to say: i hate Nicholas Sparks and his sweet and honeyed stories. Butterfly Weeds reminds me of Nicholas Sparks because was a sweet book that "is suppose" make you cry like some people says, but when I read I don't feel nothing. When I was in high school I read The Notebook, Dear John, The lucky one, The Last song (the only that I loved) and these weren't my kind of books but were acceptable and never so boring that i had that jump some pages to finish like happened in Butterfly Weeds. This book was incomplete, i think that this is the right word. It don't have main characters to love, or a couple with chemistry or passion. I didn't understand anything. why the characters loved each other? why Julia was so stupid? who is Julia? who is Will? there was many pages but at even time there was nothing but a story boring that I wanted finish as soon as possible and characters which I started without know nothing and finished in the same way, without know nothing. 3,95? it is joke. Must be. ps: english isn't my first language then, forgive my grammar errors. I wanted to really love this book and instead I found I liked it ok. I think the biggest problem I had was the storyline had the possibility of being so very good but it just fell flat. The time frame jumped years from chapter to chapter with no warning or segue. This caused a lot of choppiness to the writing style and left me confused at times. I also found a few inconsistencies and things I just think didn't fit well with the story/timeline. I think the author could have expanded on the storyline a bit and with a better editing job, this could have been a great story. There are bits of humor, some angst and a really sweet guy, Will Stephens. The female lead wasn't developed as well as she could have been in my opinion and there were time I definitely didn't like her but probably could have if there was just more to her story. Regardless, I enjoyed this enough to finish and skimmed through book two which I wish I had just read first. Will's POV is the better story. This is a stand alone with an HEA. If you enjoy tales of first love and second chance romance, you may enjoy this one.
