About book Briefe An Gott: Eine Bewegende Geschichte Voller Inspiration Und Hoffnung (2011)
This story is touching, a tear jerker. While the writing style is simplistic, the message of this story is why I rated the book 4 stars. Despite tragedy after tragedy, God works in the lives of all the characters. Not everything in life has a happy ending, but that does not mean God has abandoned someone. The letters that both the dad and Tyler wrote to God show a relationship void of pretense and full of dependence on the Creator. It is a constant reminder to share ALL with Him, to make life a prayer, and to pray in the way that is honest and open and trusting. Not quite as profound as I was expecting. Nice, but sad, sotry about mother and two sons whose husband/father was killed in a car accident. The father had written 'letters to God' regarding his sons, life, etc. in a journal. A few years later the young son is diagnosed with a brain tumor, has an operation, etc. Through it all, he decides to write letters to God just like his father did, but puts a stamp on the envelopes and mails them, to be found by a postal carrier........

It gave more detailed background to the story than the movie did. Both book and movie were good!
