I'm not sure why I read this but it's short and I had some time to kill. The overall plot wasn't bad but it felt a little like a porno. There's absolutely no reason for the two main characters to sleep together (she is posing as the bride, he knows right away) but in this book, **bow chicka bow wow** he's all, "So, who are you? I need to punish you, if you know what I mean" *spank spank*. In the end, there was very little character development. The main character seems a little dim (note her escape plan of "I'll impersonate the bride and then he'll kick me out when he finds out") and the alpha dude doesn't progress much beyond "hot" and "alpha-y". There is a weird plot twist with her friends that comes totally out of the blue and a fight with the bad guy that turns into a protest against the werewolf shifter political structure, which add some interest to the book. Not my favorite from this author. I didn't feel much romance--just mating. I did like the characters for the most part--just not when the interacted together. Plot moved too fast--wish it was longer. Probably my biggest issue with it is I don't care for alphas--or any other male lead--who like to "punish" and the h and she just takes it and gets off on it. There did not seem to be enough "tenderness" to counter balance it for me. I am not saying it crossed over into the BDSM category, and I enjoy a bit of "rough stuff", but it felt something was missing. I still love this author, and look forward to her next book.
Do You like book Bride Of The Alpha (2014)?
Cute and easy read, but frankly, nothing special.
