I like these somewhat quirky characters in this town of used booksellers in New Hampshire. This installment had an odd mystery with a disagreeable victim hiding a deep secret that was unpleasant. I guess the clues were there so the mystery was OK, but I'm totally over the love triangle with Tricia and her ex-husband and ex-boyfriend. Need to see some firm resolution on that soon or I will lose interest in this series. It's making Tricia look ridiculous. The book ended with a big cliffhanger so maybe relationships will improve in the next volume. I liked this one well enough though, as others have said, the main character is just so damn unlikable. She looks down on her sister for eating more than one slice of pizza for dinner. She eats the exact same lunch EVERY SINGLE DAY. She's grossed out about how her clothes smell after going through a horder's house, but she sleeps on her sheets without showering after she attends a house fire and notes the next morning how much like smoke she smells. She's uptight about EVERYthing and is, in short, just a horrible judgemental person. Yet, still I read these. I keep thinking she'll get a clue, but not so much. Also, the police chief? I LOATHE him. And the ex-husband, while not requiring loathing, is definitely stalking Tricia. Hello creeper. Though, with all that, this was still a pretty enjoyable read. I chalk it up to all the REALLY bad cozy mysteries I've read that THIS one seems good.
