#4 in the series and this title is significant if you are following the relationship of Mac and Sunny. Essentially a family saga, Adler creates her trademark sense of place / lifestyle of the rich and famous. Spice it up with a bit of suspense (murder!) and a romantic misunderstanding and you have a nice, lighthearted beach read complete with cute kids and quirky dogs. Being honest, the audio somehow skipped a few parts and significantly, I didn't bother to go back and find the missed parts (listening as background). From Barcelona, With Love is the fourth novel in the Mac Reilly series, following: One Of Those Malibu Nights, There's Something About St. Tropez and It All Began In Monte Carlo. Mac Reilly and Sunny Alvarez have shared their romance and travelled to many luxurious destinations. You can read these as standalone novels because anything you need to know from the previous novels is recapped so you will not feel as though you are missing information. From Barcelona, With Love has some mystery, but, the novel is still filled with Elizabeth Adler's trademark descriptions of both Barcelona and the foods experienced along the way. I love the way Elizabeth is able to transport you to the countries she is describing, so that you feel as though you are right there along with the characters. Foodies will love the descriptions of the wine and food that her characters encounter. From Barcelona, With Love is a light, fun beach read that you will want to throw into a straw bag and lay out in the sun reading. Or curl up on the sofa and this novel will transport you to these far off destinations. Warning if you haven’t read the other books in the series this book is going to make you want to check out the previous novels.
