Pastor Bonhoeffer was an amazing person and should make for an amazing biography.Unfortunately the author was more interested in making this read as a piece of historical fiction and could not control his urges to editorialize. The book went on for much longer than it needed to and harped on parts that could've been covered in a paragraph while breezing through the more interesting and complex parts. Fantastic story of a fantastic man. After reading this I am incredibly inspired by the way he looked at life and fought for what he believed in. I am so glad to have read this story and understood more about the man. I now want to read all of his books since this has given me a much better understanding of his life. Praise God for him and for his abilities to not be afraid in the face of shear evil. I will warn that this book it very deep and detailed in its portrayal of the life of Bonhoeffer so it can get bogged down if you are not as detailed oriented.
