About book Black Butterflies (2012)

This is actually book number two of the series, which I read out of order simply because of the title. I had a little bit of trouble getting used to the voice of the book. It seemed abrupt, but as I went along, I got it. Marina is a troubled woman with woes due to an overbearing husband, two daughters and a journey to prevent something from happening to one of the daughters. In the story, she walks to and from the port both in her home location and where she goes to sleuth for the situation she's determined will happen if she doesn't not intervene. We meet her coming and going, growing and learning. Sad and lonely on a road to meaningful living but not without some duress and stress. I enjoyed meeting all of the characters, some of whom were pretty interesting. Later, I picked up the three-in-one book for the first three of this series and read The Illegal Gardner and The Explosive Nature of Friendship. Albeit, I didn't read the title of the last one until I was finished reading it. What a surprise there! Anyway, as I've read the other books, I've come to better appreciate Marina's story and how it's told. Very good read. Glad I read it. This was the last book of the series I read....slowly to savor every word. Beautiful!! realistic, Sara delves so deeply into the characters leaving no emotion untold. Amazing and a new Island to imagine. So sad when it was over, I wanted more! I want to be there with these people, meet them, live with them, eat the food, experience this rare view of village life. Beautiful, and I am eagerly awaiting the next episode! Thank You Sara!
