I like Nixie - well, I actually like Hughes's writing style in this particular book, go figure. I am the first one to scream there's not much art in smut, but this one proves me wrong. I freely admit it may just be the absolute quirkiness of the character and the over-the-top storytelling that make Biting Nixie good. But, writing it like this required some serious cojones, and I always appreciate that. I loved this! I have missed my Paranormal Romance reading so much. And this book drew me in and made me want to go back and start re-reading my PR that I already have on my shelves.This book was hilarious!! I loved Nixie. She is different, smart, snarky, sarcastic, got an attitude, in your face, has a temper, is in a band and so short she is often taken for a child. Just don't call or treat her like a child or else she will go off on you. I loved Julian who is our hero to Nixie and her love interest but Nixie makes this book. Yes, Julian is a HUGH part of this story but it is Nixie who is the star and steals the show.At times I was thrown for a loop with what I am now calling Nixie talk but I get it and I love it. This book give you a girl in a band, vampires, humor, the horror of having a parent trying to set you up, fight scene with heads being cut off, great sex scenes and lots of blood and hearts being pulled from vampire chests and being flung to splat against the wall. I loved it. Blood, vampires and sex I can't ask more from any book. This book put me in heaven.It had me laughing out loud in a couple of spots. I really want to look into getting the rest of this series. This was a free read that I downloaded to my daughters kindle cuz Kobo doesn't carry this series. Yeah I know it SUCKS!!! If this is out in paperback I will probably have to get them that way. Don't know I will have to see.All in all I loved this and would recommend it to others.
