This is a very interesting storyline. The female character isn't who she says she is and her 'aunt' isn't her aunt. There's also a man she left even though he loved her (and there's extenuating circumstances to the relationship). Now in the Florida Keys with her college roommates she's worried about the health of her aunt and it's nine years later and the man is back in the picture and she needs his help. I found I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it. Reviewed by Crystal B.Book provided by the publisher for reviewReview originally posted at Romancing the BookI have read some of Roxanne St. Claire’s work in the past and I have really wanted to read her Barefoot Bay series. So when I seen an opportunity to read and review Barefoot in the Sun, I jumped on it! Oh my am I ever so glad that I did. I really enjoyed reading Zoe and Oliver story.Zoe Tamarin has been through so much. She has lived most of her life on the run with her Aunt Pasha. She found the love of her life once and explained her story to Oliver. However she just could not stay in one place so off they went again. Now that Zoe and Oliver have found each other again they have a lot of things to work out. There are secrets that need to be uncovered, questions that need answers, and they have to learn to trust each other again. Is their love strong enough to overcome all the obstacles in their path?I loved Zoe, even though she has been through so much she is witty, funny, and charming. She has a fabulous relationship with her friends from college and I loved how they stick together. They are just the support system that Zoe needs.Oliver has the most adorable, brilliant child Evan. This little guy is unbelievably smart for his age and adds some wonderful cute charm to the story line. I love when children are involved in the story line. It just seems to add such a nice touch.Oliver is a very handsome successful doctor. He has an important job to accomplish. He’s the doctor that is going to try to save Zoe’s Aunt Pasha. I really liked Oliver and how he is willing to stand up for and protect Zoe. This is one guy I think anyone would want on their side in a sticky situation.I have not read the first two books in this series but I did not feel I was missing any important information. I think you could read this as a stand alone book just fine. Now that I have read Barefoot in the Sun, I know I sure would not mind reading the other two books in the series as well as the next book that is coming out. This book is full of drama and mystery, as well as romance and a few steamy scenes. I know it certainly kept me entertained and turning pages quickly. I will warn you there is some sad scenes towards the end of the book. You very well may want to grab the Kleenex box, you may need them. I know I did.
