This book disappointed me. I had enjoyed the other Alex Ferguson book, but this one didn't deliver. It really seems like the book wasn't edited at all. The story jumps around all the time, there's no apparent order to the things. Ferguson just moves from one character to another, from one event to another, sometimes just mentioning interesting things in passing. Even within chapters, the narrative jumps from one subject to another in a very abrupt fashion. Furthermore, a lot of the time is devoted to thanking people. The book did offer some insight into e.g. some of the controversial transfers (Beckham, Keane, van Nistelrooy) of the Ferguson era. Unfortunately, Ferguson doesn't really reveal much of what happened in the background, and gives only his side of the story, and usually very briefly at that. As a United fan, I'm glad Sir Alex Ferguson didn't decide to take up a career as an author. This is one charming autobiography from Victoria Books !I never was a football fan, but I am very interested in the lives of great sportsmen.I found the book very enchanting, easy to read, meaningful. It made me become more determined to become a true professional in my domain of business.I enjoyed each and every chapter, the fine, detailed descriptions of the players, teams, matches, the technical and strategic insights, most of all.
